Adult Programming

Down Syndrome Indiana offers programming throughout adulthood.

Circles Curriculum

The Circles program assists in discriminating different levels of intimacy and adapting their behaviors accordingly. The program teaches individuals how relationships can be formed and maintained according to the social norms & social boundaries of our day and age. Thus, the Circles program lays the foundation for people with disabilities to manage the amount of personal responsibility and social integration available to them. This program is offered twice a year in partnership with ILADD. Email Garner@dsindiana.org for program information.

Live Laugh Dance

Live Laugh Dance is a summer program designed for adolescents and young adults–ages 10 and up–who have Down syndrome. Instructors and volunteers promote creative movement, rhythmic activities, and social interaction through dance activities. At the end of the summer, dancers showcase their talents by performing for family and friends in a dance recital. Live Laugh Dance is a partnership between Down Syndrome Indiana, Franklin College, and IUPUI. the Franklin College Department of Kinesiology and Down Syndrome Indiana.

321Go!

Down Syndrome Indiana hosts 321go!, a National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) designed program. This program’s goal is to promote healthy lifestyle choices in physical activity, balanced nutrition, and emotional wellness among individuals with Down syndrome and their families. This program is offered once a year, and graduates continue to engage in fitness challenges throughout the year!

Aging and Down Syndrome

Alzheimer’s Disease is a growing concern in the Down syndrome community. Many families and caregivers are struggling to understand what Alzheimer’s Disease looks like in individuals with Down syndrome, how to take care of an individual with Down syndrome during late adulthood, and where to find resources and information. DSI has a page of resources and information dedicated to aging and Down syndrome.
