Policy & Advocacy

Indiana Disability Alliance

The Indiana Disability Alliance is a statewide coalition representing people with all disabilities, bringing together organizations to advance public policies that promote independence, community integration, and meaningful opportunity across Indiana. Through coordinated advocacy, the Alliance works to strengthen systems that support individuals in participating fully in community life, while preventing unnecessary institutionalization and supporting sustained community living.

Down Syndrome Indiana is a founding member of the Indiana Disability Alliance. Visit https://indianadisabilityalliance.org/ for more information.

Interested in Getting Involved?

Join a Committee

We encourage caregivers, supporters, and individuals with Down syndrome to use their voice and tell us what matters to them! We have a specific self advocates committee, as well as meeting for caregivers and passionate community advocates.

Advocate

There are several ways to use your voice in your own community, at the state level, and the national level. We offer opportunities for community events at the State Capitol Building, as well as offer mentorship on how to advocate best for your loved one.
