Meet Down Syndrome Indiana

Down Syndrome Indiana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting individuals with Down syndrome, their families, the professionals who serve them, and the community at large. While our core service area spans 46 counties across Indiana, our programs and events are open and welcoming to all Hoosiers.

Founded more than 30 years ago by parents, Down Syndrome Indiana was established with a clear mission: to enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. Guided by the vision of a more inclusive Indiana, we work to ensure that individuals with Down syndrome have every opportunity to live, work, and thrive as valued members of their communities.

We carry out this mission vision through:

• Bringing accessible and accurate resources and information on Down syndrome to caregivers, professionals, and the community.

• Providing new and current parent support and connections. This includes but is not limited to free New Parent Packets, Resources for New Parents, Resources for Current Parents, Free Webinars, First Call Program, and so much more!

• Hosting programs for both children and adults with Down syndrome such as The Learning Program, The Circles Curriculum, 321go!, and Live Laugh Dance.

• Providing continuing education opportunities centered on what individuals with Down syndrome and caregivers want and need. DSI also offers free educational presentations to students, health professionals, educators, and community professionals.

How We Are Funded

Down Syndrome Indiana is funded through grants, private donations, and revenue from our signature events, including the Annual Buddy Walk®. We are proud to be recognized with a Platinum Seal of Transparency, reflecting our commitment to accountability and trust.
