Zoe is a volunteer with the DSI Lafayette Learning Program(TM).
How long have you been volunteering at DSI?
This is my first few months volunteering at DSI!
What do you love about volunteering?
I love getting to be a part of these kiddo’s lives and watching them progress as the months go on.
Tell us about yourself?
I have my undergraduate degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science from Purdue. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s of Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. This is my second year working as a paraprofessional at Battle Ground Middle School where I work 1-1 with a kiddo with ASD in the Essential Skills classroom. I am passionate about advocacy for, and inclusion of, individuals with developmental disabilities.
What are your future plans?
Hopefully, I will remain in the TSC/LSC school corporations after I become a BCBA. I enjoy working with kiddos with challenging behavior within the school setting.
Do you have a connection to Down syndrome?
I don’t have an explicit connection, but I work in a classroom with several kiddos with Down Syndrome and each one of them have a special place in my heart.
